To log in to the MCA21 V3 portal, go to www.mca.gov.in, click Sign In / Sign Up at the top right, and sign in with your user ID and password โ your registered email ID, or your CIN/LLPIN if you are a Company/LLP user. Business users are sent an OTP to their registered mobile number and email during login. If you only need to look up a company, you do not need to log in at all: company and LLP master data can be viewed without signing in.
โก Quick Answer
MCA21 V3 login runs on www.mca.gov.in through Sign In / Sign Up. Individuals sign in with their registered email ID; Company/LLP users sign in with their CIN or LLPIN. V2 filing closed on 18 June 2025, so V3 is now the only route for company and LLP filings, and only Business Users can associate a DSC for signing forms.
This guide covers the full login journey end to end: which account type you need, how to register, how to sign in, how to associate your DSC, and how to fix the errors that block most first-time users. It is written against the Ministry of Corporate Affairs' own MCA21 V3 FAQs on login, registration and DSC association, verified on 31 October 2026.
๐ Section 1 โ Before you log in: V3 is the only portal now
MCA21 V3 is the Ministry of Corporate Affairs' web-based filing portal for companies and LLPs. The old V2 portal was disabled for filing on 18 June 2025, after the final set of 38 remaining forms migrated to V3 and went live on 14 July 2025. Every company and LLP form โ annual filings, director KYC, charge filings, incorporation services โ now runs through V3 at www.mca.gov.in. If you still have a V2 bookmark, a saved V2 login page or an old desktop utility, stop using it: it will not file anything.
One thing that has not changed: you can view a company's or LLP's master data without logging in at all. From the homepage, go to MCA Services โ View Company / LLP Master Data, enter the company name or CIN, and the master data opens. This is the fastest way to check a company's status, directors, charges or filing history when you do not need to file anything.
๐ก Why login fails most often
Most MCA21 V3 login problems are not technical glitches. They are account-type problems: signing in as a Registered User and expecting to file company forms, trying to associate a DSC on an account that cannot hold one, or registering a second account with a new email and losing access to old filing history. Picking the right account type first prevents nearly all of them.
๐ฅ Section 2 โ Which account type do you need?
MCA21 V3 has two major user types, and the distinction decides what you can do after login. Choose wrong and you will log in successfully โ then find the form you need is not available to you.
The practical rule is simple. If you need to sign and file forms for a company or LLP, you need a Business User account. A Registered User account is enough only if you are viewing data, filing a complaint, or using one of the few forms open to individuals, such as DIR-3 KYC or name reservation (RUN). A Registered User can upgrade to a Business User later โ you do not need to start over โ but you cannot associate a DSC until you do.
๐ Section 3 โ How to register on MCA21 V3 (new users)
Registration is free and takes a few minutes if you have the right details ready. Follow these steps exactly:
- Go to www.mca.gov.in and click Sign In / Sign Up at the top right of the homepage.
- Click Register. Choose your user type โ Registered User or the Business User category that fits you (Company/LLP User, Director/Designated Partner, Professional, or Manager/Secretary/Authorised Representative).
- Enter your details. Every user needs a valid, unique email ID. Business Users must also give their PAN. Company/LLP Users need the CIN, LLPIN, FLLPIN or FCRN. Professional Users need their membership number and institute name.
- Verify your email and mobile with the OTPs sent during registration. Use an email and mobile number you actually control โ login OTPs, password resets and filing confirmations all go there.
- Set your password and finish. Your username after registration is the email ID you registered with โ except for Company/LLP Users, whose user ID is the CIN or LLPIN.
โ Three registration rules that cannot be undone casually
(1) One person gets one valid V3 account โ one email ID and one PAN per account. (2) If you already had a V2 account, do not register again with a new email ID: you will be created as a completely new user and your old application history will not be visible. (3) A DSC can only be associated with a Business User account, and only one DSC per user ID โ associate the right person's DSC the first time.
๐ Section 4 โ How to log in, step by step
- Go to www.mca.gov.in and click Sign In / Sign Up at the top right.
- Pick the right login path. For company filings, use Login for Company Filing; for LLP filings, use Login for LLP Filing. Both live under the same Sign In / Sign Up button.
- Enter your user ID and password. For individuals, the user ID is your registered email ID. For Company/LLP Users, it is the CIN or LLPIN.
- Complete the OTP step. Business users are sent an OTP to their registered mobile number and email during login. Enter it to reach your dashboard.
- Reach your dashboard. From here you can open e-filing, check application history and SRN status, update your profile, and โ for Business Users โ associate or manage your DSC.
Already had a V2 account? You do not need fresh registration. Sign in with your existing V2 user ID and password; the system recognises the email ID used in V2 and shows your filing history under Application History. If you instead register with a different email ID, the system treats you as a brand-new user โ your old filings will not appear, and that is by design, not a bug.
โ๏ธ Section 5 โ Associating your DSC (mandatory before signing any form)
A Digital Signature Certificate is required to sign forms on the MCA portal. Before you can sign anything, the DSC must be associated (registered) with your MCA user ID โ and this step trips up more users than login itself.
- Sign in as a Business User. Only Business Users can associate a DSC. Registered Users cannot โ if the option is missing, your account type is the problem, not your token.
- Go to MCA Services โ DSC Services โ Associate DSC (also shown under MCA Services โ FO LLP Service โ Associate DSC).
- Install emSigner and emBridge on your computer first โ the DSC tools will not detect your token without them. Use a supported browser (Chrome, Edge or Firefox).
- Plug in your DSC token and select it when prompted. If this is the first time the token is used, you may need to change its PIN first.
- Enter the token PIN and click Register. A confirmation message appears on successful association.
Two points the MCA FAQ stresses. First, a DSC associated on V2 must be re-associated on V3 โ the old association does not carry over. Second, if you associated the wrong DSC, associate the correct one again and click Yes on the confirmation pop-up; the new DSC replaces the old one. But be careful: after 3 failed attempts at associating the right DSC, you will not be able to associate again through the normal route.
๐งฏ Section 6 โ Common login and DSC errors, fixed
โ Section 7 โ What to do next after you are in
Once logged in, verify three things before you start any filing: (1) your profile's email and mobile are current, (2) your DSC is associated if you will sign forms, and (3) your director KYC is current โ an expired DIR-3 KYC blocks filings regardless of how complete everything else is. Then check the due dates that apply to you: our Compliance Calendar lists MCA due dates through the year, and the ROC Fee Calculator estimates late fees before you file. If your next task is director KYC, read the DIR-3 KYC Web 2026 complete guide โ it covers the new 3-year filing cycle. For the meaning of MCA21 and related terms, see the MCA21 glossary entry.
๐ซ What this guide does not cover
This guide covers access to the portal only. It does not cover buying or renewing a DSC (that comes from a licensed Certifying Authority), applying for a DIN, incorporating a company, or filing any specific form โ each of those has its own process once you are logged in. It also does not cover MCA grievance tickets beyond the password-expired route above; for other portal errors, use the MCA helpdesk ticket system from inside your account.
โ Frequently asked questions
How do I log in to the MCA21 V3 portal?
Go to www.mca.gov.in, click Sign In / Sign Up at the top right, and sign in with your user ID and password โ your registered email ID for individuals, or your CIN/LLPIN for Company/LLP users. Business users then complete an OTP sent to their registered mobile and email.
What is my MCA V3 login ID?
For individuals, your login ID is the email ID you gave at registration. For Company/LLP users, the login ID is the CIN or LLPIN. If you forget which email you registered with, try the one used for your V2 account first โ that is the one carrying your filing history.
Can I use my old MCA V2 login on the V3 portal?
Yes. Existing V2 users do not need fresh registration โ sign in with your existing V2 user ID and password. Do not register again with a new email ID, or you will be created as a new user without your old application history.
What is the difference between a Registered User and a Business User on MCA V3?
A Registered User is any individual with access to basic services and a few individual forms such as DIR-3 KYC. A Business User โ a company/LLP, director, designated partner, professional or authorised officer โ can access and file all forms for their company/LLP and can associate a DSC. Only Business Users can sign forms.
How do I associate my DSC on MCA V3?
Sign in as a Business User, go to MCA Services โ DSC Services โ Associate DSC, make sure emSigner and emBridge are installed, plug in your token, select it, enter the PIN and click Register. A DSC associated on V2 must be re-associated on V3, and only one DSC can be linked to one user ID.
Why is my DSC not working on the MCA portal?
The usual causes are: emSigner/emBridge not installed, an expired DSC, a DSC that was associated on V2 but never re-associated on V3, a DSC whose details do not match the MCA record, or trying to associate it on a Registered User account. Work through those in order before re-attempting โ remember the 3-failed-attempts limit on re-association.
Can I view company details on MCA21 without logging in?
Yes. Company and LLP master data can be viewed without signing in: on www.mca.gov.in, go to MCA Services โ View Company / LLP Master Data and search by company name or CIN.
