RBI's seven Amendment Directions (June 24, 2026) replace the narrower unauthorised-transaction liability rule with a wider fraudulent-EBT framework, cap complaint resolution at 45/60 days, and launch a new small-value fraud compensation scheme, effective January 1, 2027.

RBI replaces complex NBFC-UL scoring methodology with a simple ₹1,00,000 crore asset threshold, brings Government NBFCs under Scale Based Regulation, and withdraws their concentration norm exemptions. Effective June 24, 2026.

RBI has withdrawn 732 A.P. (DIR Series) circulars issued since June 2000 under FEMA 1999, covering ECB, FDI, LRS, NRI deposits, AML/KYC, and Exim Bank LoCs—all rendered redundant by subsequent amendments.

RBI issued six Amendment Directions dated June 17, 2026, temporarily withdrawing the interest rate ceiling on FCNR(B) deposits (3-5 year tenors) and the restriction on NRE deposit rates (3 years and above) across all categories of banks, till September 30, 2026.

RBI's A.P. (DIR Series) Circular No. 15 dated June 19, 2026 directs all AD Category-I banks to submit daily reports on FCNR(B) deposits, ECBs and OFCBs mobilised under the Swap Facility circulars dated June 8, 2026, by 6 p.m. daily, with first reporting due June 22, 2026.
